10 Years of Rustic Marlin

Rustic Marlin started out of love in 2012 when founders, Melanie & Brian O'Neil, got married. September 22nd marks 10 years of marriage for the couple, as well as 10 years of Rustic Marlin.
To celebrate, enjoy this look back at the years leading up to this milestone.
2012
Melanie and Brian tied the knot. They created the original signs as gifts for their family. The couple returned from their honeymoon to an overwhelming amount of requests for signs. These have now become our signature piece - The Marlin Classic.
2013 & 2014
As the demand for signs grew, Rustic Marlin was featured on Chronicle. Orders overwhelmed the couple from floor to ceiling.
2015 & 2016
Their largest order yet! The yard acted as a shipping department & they recruited their parents to help out. Then, Melanie and Brian moved the business to a 50,000-square-foot facility in Hanover, MA.
2017 - 2019
As press around the brand increased, Rustic Marlin decided to expand the product line to include an assortment of textiles. This included personalized pillows, tea towels, and keychains.
2020
When the world shut down due to the pandemic, the brand launched a "Signs of Hope" initiative, donating 100% of the profits from their hope signs to those most impacted by COVID-19.
2021
The Marlin Market was created. The one-of-a-kind market is completely outdoors and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It runs completely on the honor system.
As the market was getting up and running, national exposure continued to grow. Rustic Marlin was featured in Oprah Magazine, on The View, and Good Morning America, to name a few.
2022
Rustic Marlin opened its first-ever pop-up store at Mashpee Commons on Cape Cod. A mobile retail experience was also developed. This truck, the Marlin Mobile, was converted into a store. This allowed the brand to be on the go at local events, fairs & more!
Rustic Marlin has had a whirlwind of a decade. We want to thank our customers for supporting our brand, and believing in what we believe in - honesty, teamwork, & of course, love.
